Worship Update - Suspension of services on Sundays
As you will be aware, we have now entered the third period of National Lockdown. The government guidance is clear that everyone should stay at home to protect the NHS and to save lives although there is provision for places of worship to remain open. We know how important it is for members of the congregation to attend Church in person, but we also need to weigh up the risks that are faced by those attending, our visiting Clergy and the volunteers who help to run the services. We have thought deeply about this and have decided that we must suspend worship in Church on Sundays. This decision will be reviewed regularly, and we will reopen as soon as we believe it is safe to do so.
In the meantime, the opening of Church for private prayer will be extended to every weekday morning between 9.30am and 11.30am.
Whilst there are currently no live services from St Margaret’s Church there are a number of live streamed services from Parishes within the Diocese which can be found at www.leeds.anglican.org/covid-19/live-streaming.
